The old days

I know I'm getting old, and maybe that's why I feel the way I do, but it seems to me that this country was a much better place years age. Before so much tv., internet, and media coverage, life was much simpler. People used to connect in person and it felt more real. Today we can talk to anyone anywhere, but we don't really connect. You know it's 2009 when your son or daughter call's you on a cell phone from up stairs to see if dinner is ready! What happened? I don't mean to sound cliche, but life really was much better in a simpler time and place. We wonder what has happened to the youth today. Watch and see when they change, it's when they find there independance. When they stop needing us. Yet today,we push that more and more. In the past our children needed us longer, maybe all the way into there 20's. Today we have made life so easy for them, they fail to learn some very important lessons along the way. I think life would be better if we lost about half of the thing's that make our lives so easy. We might find out that we need people again. We strive for our independence, we strive to make our lives easier and as a result, we become more and more disconnected from each other. I would rather work hard to get something I need or want! I would rather need people and have them need me. In my eyes, God did not build me to be independent!
